Structures Technician IV Job Description Join a dynamic team as a Structures Technician IV, where you will be instrumental in assembling and creating major assembly structures and fitting operations. You will work from Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, contributing to a significant defense program that involves modifying Boeing 747-8 aircraft into specialized military platforms. Responsibilities Assemble and create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations, including filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming. Align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures, and measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. Modify incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporate changes into the structure. Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of aviation structures experience, with military experience welcomed. Proficiency in sheet metal work, airframe maintenance, and aircraft modification. Ability to understand technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications. Capability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch. Progressive experience in structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques, and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal. Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Must have own tools in good working order. Experience with aircraft maintenance repair, riveting, and corrosion handling. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role requires standing, climbing stairs, and frequent hand, arm, and finger motions. This is a safety-sensitive position where you are responsible for the safety and security of people or property, including inspecting structures, equipment, and performing aviation-related duties. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Vandalia, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
