WELDER/FITTER

• Friday 6:00am
• 2:30pm A smaller family owned metal fabrication shop, with multiple generations of experience and work in the Portland area.

Welding:

Perform MIG welding on structural steel and other metals. Ensure welds are strong, clean, and meet industry standards.

Fitting:

Measure, cut, and fit metal components together using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.

Blueprint Reading:

Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to accurately assemble and weld structures.

Inspection:

Inspect welded and fitted components for quality and adherence to specifications. Make necessary adjustments or repairs.

Safety:

Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean work area.

Collaboration:

Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.

Maintenance:

Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.

What you need to have:

Proven experience as a structural welder/fitter or similar role. Proficiency in various welding techniques and fitting methods. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and precision. Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices. Certification in welding preferred.
