Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Welder/Fabricator Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This role is vital in constructing, repairing, and maintaining metal structures and components across various projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent welding skills, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and welding procedures. Work on Portable Equipment - Willing to Travel 2 Hours Max. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate metal components from sheet metal, pipe, and other materials utilizing hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Measure, cut, thread pipes, and assemble metal parts with precision using shop math, blueprint reading skills, and measuring instruments. Operate fabrication equipment including plasma cutters, pipe threading machines, and sheet metal shears while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment at all times. Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, ensuring quality standards are met throughout the fabrication process.
Experience Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety protocols in industrial environments. Hands-on experience with welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Familiarity with interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings for fabrication purposes. Knowledge of mechanical systems, metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, plasma cutting, and assembly processes. Ability to use measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers accurately for precise fabrication work. Experience working in a fabrication shop or on construction sites involving mechanical fabrication projects. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by proficiency with hand tools, power tools, shop math skills, and safety standards aligned with AWS guidelines.
