Job Description
Scranton Craftsmen is seeking self-motivated candidates to join our metal fabricating team. Candidates should possess solid welding skills in MIG and stick welding and have the ability to execute work from CAD drawings. Must have complete layout and fabrication skill set and possess solid skills in MIG and stick welding with a mechanical mindset for a strong attention to detail, quality and accuracy.
Duties:
- Perform welding fabrication and assembly of metal structures, staircases, railings and equipment using MIG and stick (SMAW) processes on mild steel and aluminum.
- Produce metal products according to design and customer specifications.
- Layout, fit and fabricate parts from shop drawings, blueprints, diagrams and sketches.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances and overall quality of each job before it leaves the shop.
- Use multiple welding machines to repair and maintain metal equipment and structures of various sizes.
Requirements:
- Able to read and interpret diagrams, sketches and blueprints to determine operations, required materials and time-frames for projects.
- Communication skills are essential to work with team members and sales staff.
- Knowledge on how to operate a brake and shear is a plus, however, we are willing to train a passionate applicant.
- Understand and implement personal and company safety measures by wearing specialized goggles, helmets and gloves.
