Shift:
7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday Job Description This role focuses on MIG welding and fabrication of carbon steel components in a production environment. You will read and interpret blueprints, perform flat and horizontal MIG welds, operate grinders and material-handling equipment, and contribute to the fabrication of steel tubes and structures. The position requires strong technical welding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on carbon steel components, primarily in flat and horizontal positions. Read and interpret blueprints to understand weld symbols, dimensions, and fabrication requirements. Grind welds and steel parts to achieve proper finish and meet quality standards. Fabricate steel assemblies by cutting, shaping, and joining steel tubes and other components. Operate robotic welding equipment as needed to support production requirements. Use cranes and forklifts to safely move materials, components, and finished products within the facility. Participate in group welding and collaborative fabrication projects to meet production goals. Perform flux core welding when required for specific jobs or materials. Operate fabrication and production machinery in accordance with safety and quality procedures. Inspect welds and fabricated parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines and proper handling of tools and equipment. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job status, issues, and improvement opportunities. Essential Skills At least 2 years of MIG welding experience, including flat and horizontal positions. At least 2 years of blueprint reading experience, with the ability to interpret weld symbols and dimensions. At least 2 years of grinding experience on steel components. Strong proficiency in MIG welding on carbon steel. Ability to weld mainly steel tubes and work confidently with steel materials. Experience in fabricating steel, including cutting, shaping, and joining steel components. Proficiency in blueprint reading for fabrication and welding projects. Ability to operate grinders safely and effectively. Experience operating cranes and forklifts in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Fitting experience to prepare and position parts for welding. Flux core welding experience. Machine operating experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfort working primarily with carbon steel; exposure to aluminum is helpful but not required. Experience with robotic welding systems. Ability to work in a team environment and participate in group welding projects. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and fabrications. Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Reliability and consistency in meeting production schedules and quality expectations. Why Work Here? The shift runs from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with overtime offered as needed. Work involves regular use of welding equipment, grinders, cranes, forklifts, and fabrication machinery, following established safety and quality procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Zelienople, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
