We're currently seeking a Welder / Fitter I to join our growing team of professionals in Memphis, Tennessee . This position will support our Day shift, which operates Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Reads and interprets work instructions, blueprints, and reference documents Critically examines how various mechanical and/or structural parts fit together Operates cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to assist with moving material Assembles material as needed, grinding rail fits on castings, driving spikes with an impact ridge, hammering clips with a sledgehammer, using an arc gouger May be required to pull parts and/or material from stock Performs primarily MIG and Stick welding, usually 3/8 weld bead using flux core wire Assists other employees, works collaboratively to accomplish goals Alerts/advises supervisors or engineers when issues arise Maintains a safety and quality focused mindset Makes suggestions and improves processes or quality of assembly projects at hand
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC, etc.) Minimum of 1 year of industrial welding experience Safety Awareness - the ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), ensure tools are in good working order, and take action if coworkers in work area are at risk or causing risk Must be able to complete internal forklift training and certification Must be able to complete AWS (American Welding Society) Weld Certification Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to work on-site in
Memphis, Tennessee Preferred Qualifications:
