POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for laying out and welding structural steel in order to build metal structures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Welds and cuts black carbon and galvanized steel, interprets blueprints Ability to operate hand tools, grinders, etc Ability to operate and/or willingness to learn operation of basic shop machinery Ensure product is manufactured according to print Must keep area neat and clean in accordance with 6S leadership and standards/goals Adheres and comply with all company safety requirements
ATTRIBUTES
Read and understand schematics and blueprints Ability to read basic blueprints and weld symbols Ability to read a tape measure Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide (Lbs., Ft. Inch.) Operating Vehicles, Mechanical Devices or Equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred Previous professional welding experience Fundamental understanding of various weld processes and welding machinery Ability to read basic blueprints and weld symbols Ability to comfortably lift 50 pounds repeatedly and overhead This position description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
