Position Overview Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our fabrication shop at the Deer Park, TX tooling facility. This position is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, repair, and modification of complex tooling used in gas and steam turbine generator manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess advanced welding, fabrication, and precision assembly skills and be capable of producing high-quality components to demanding engineering specifications. Roles and Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, modify, and repair complex tooling and related components.
- Perform high-quality MIG and dual-shield flux-cored welding on a variety of materials and component configurations.
- Interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication requirements.
- Develop and execute fabrication solutions for complex tooling and industrial components.
- Perform precision layout, fitting, drilling, and assembly operations.
- Operate CNC water jet equipment and other shop machinery as required.
- Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Support tooling fabrication for gas and steam turbine generator applications.
- Obtain and maintain AWS welding certifications as required.
- Support after-hours work and field-service requirements as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in a fabrication, welding, or industrial shop environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MIG and dual-shield flux-cored welding.
- Extensive experience with mechanical fabrication, fitting, and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
- Ability to obtain and maintain AWS welding certifications.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Successfully complete a practical fabrication and welding test during the interview process.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience fabricating tooling for gas or steam turbine generators.
- Advanced experience with CNC water jet and plasma cutting equipment.
- Experience with CNC machining or manual machining.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with large industrial components and complex assemblies.
- Experience with precision layout, drilling, and tooling fabrication.
- Ability to develop practical, high-quality fabrication solutions from engineering drawings.
Pay:
$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
