Fabrication involves laying out, cutting, fitting, measuring and welding metals to create the desired final product. This is highly detailed work and requires the Welder Fabricator to be knowledgeable of many techniques and tools. Welder Fabricators must be able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans. The Welder Fabricator will use the blueprints along with other data, such as work orders, to develop and design their welding projects.
Essential Duties:
Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors Able to perform assigned duties while adhering to the Safety rules Perform the assigned duties while maintaining, or surpassing, defined quality expectations Ensure work areas meet, or exceed, site housekeeping standards Complete projects on a timely matter and must be able to complete Work Orders properly Maximum efficiency in production is being utilized at all times Review assignment prior to initial work is started Perform tasks of welding as needed Inspect and test welds the equipment. Welds are checked for durability as well as meeting specified standards and equipment must be examined to determine if repairs or new equipment is needed. Assist maintenance on servicing welding machines as needed Build material samples as requested
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple tasks within a tight timeline Ability to interpret blueprints. Must be able to perform the following welding process:
MIG- FLUX CORE
will be a plus Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) will be a plus Ability to be at work every day, on-time as scheduled and complete the entire scheduled shift Able to work 12 hrs. shift Able to move/lift to 60 lbs. Ability to work in an environment that is often loud, dusty, and experience extreme temperatures
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma, or GED Minimum of 6 months of welding Production/Manufacturing environment experience is a plus. 1st shift 5:00 am to 3:30 pm or 2nd shift 3:00 pm to 1:30 am 40 with OT as require by production needs
