OPERATIONS
We are looking for a skilled Welder to cut and join metals at our facility. This person will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures, or parts, with a great deal of precision. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. Responsibilities Executes Big Wheel Set up and stabbing. Change and controls machine tools and consumables ensuring their availability•Performs machine operation. Performs Tig and PAW (plasma arc welding) to join strips, including tapered wall thickness. Monitors welding variables (Speed, heat input,ect.) Performs grinding and weld finishing to x-ray quality to prepare strip for milling. Reports production stoppages. Assists machine lock outs and tag outs and does operative maintenance. Updates information in the tracking systems. Complete and update all applicable records ensuring information accuracy. Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning. Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities. Maintain a clean and ordered workplace.
Schedule:
This position will be required to work on a rotating shift.
