Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as an Intern Welder and gain hands-on experience in metal fabrication and welding techniques! This paid internship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills on construction sites, working alongside seasoned professionals in a fast-paced environment. You will assist with various welding projects, learn to interpret technical drawings, and familiarize yourself with industry standards—all while contributing to real-world construction and fabrication tasks. If you're eager to build a solid foundation in welding and mechanical fabrication, this role is perfect for you! Duties Assist with metal fabrication tasks, including sheet metal cutting, assembly, and fitting under supervision Support welding operations using MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) techniques Help interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints to ensure precise fabrication and assembly Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, and shop math to verify dimensions and tolerances Support the setup and operation of plasma cutters, gas metal arc welders, and other fabrication equipment Maintain safety protocols on construction sites and within fabrication shops to ensure a safe working environment Assist with the use of hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and assembly processes for various projects Requirements Currently enrolled in a technical school or apprenticeship program related to welding or mechanical fabrication Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math principles Willingness to learn interpreting technical drawings and blueprints for fabrication projects Ability to work effectively with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly components Strong mechanical knowledge with an interest in metal materials and sheet metal fabrication Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude toward safety and teamwork This paid internship is designed to give aspiring welders a comprehensive introduction to the industry while supporting ongoing learning and skill development.
