Responsibilites Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layouts specifications. Lay out, measure, cut, fit and align structural steel plates, stiffeners, bulkheads, and other vessel components. Prepare joints and position materials for welding. Use cutting torches, grinders, and fitting tools safely. Check dimensions and alignment to ensure work meets specifications. Follow shipyard safely procedures and work closely with welders and other trades. Qualifications Previous structural fitting experience in a shipyard or marine construction setting. Ability to read blueprints and take accurate measurements. Experience in using structural fitting tools and equipment. Ability to perform physical work, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights assigned. Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
