We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fleet Mechanic to join our team and support our fleet and equipment operations. Position Summary The Welder/Fabricator position combines welding, metal fabrication, equipment repair, and custom construction projects. The ideal candidate enjoys working with a variety of materials and projects ranging from heavy equipment repairs to custom aluminum outdoor kitchens, equipment cages, shop improvements, structural steel projects, trailers, and facility upgrades. Key Responsibilities The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, repairing, modifying, and installing a wide variety of metal structures, equipment components, and custom-built projects. This position requires strong welding and fabrication skills, the ability to read and interpret drawings, and the creativity to solve unique construction and repair challenges. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a shop environment, on construction sites, and in field locations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Fabricate, assemble, and install custom metal structures and components. Perform welding repairs and modifications on company vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, and construction machinery. Build and install aluminum outdoor kitchens, equipment enclosures, storage cages, gates, railings, structural supports, shop fixtures, and other custom fabrication projects. Design, lay out, measure, cut, fit, and fabricate steel and aluminum components from drawings, sketches, or field measurements. Operate oxyacetylene cutting equipment, stick welders, MIG welders, grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools. Repair cracked, worn, or damaged metal components using proper welding and fabrication techniques. Assist with facility improvements, structural modifications, and special projects. Respond to field service calls and emergency repair situations when necessary. Load, unload, transport, and position materials and fabricated assemblies. Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work area. Collaborate with mechanics, construction personnel, and management to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; Welding certifications or trade school training preferred. Minimum three (3) years of welding and fabrication experience. Demonstrated proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick welding, and oxyacetylene/plasma cutting. Ability to fabricate from measurements, sketches, blueprints, and verbal instructions. Experience fabricating and welding steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, grinders, cutting equipment, and measuring instruments. Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Experience with heavy equipment and commercial vehicle repair. Bilingual preferred but not required (English/Spanish).
