Job Description

Job Summary The pipe welder will weld stainless steel and carbon steel pipe products using advanced welding processes, perform 6G welds, and complete in-process weld quality inspections. This role also requires reading drawings, setting up fixtures and equipment, and following welding procedures and safety standards. Pay $25 per hour Shift 1st shift: 6 a.m. - 4 p.m. Duties Perform FCAW welds on carbon steel pipe when applicable Use SMAW welding processes on stainless steel and carbon steel as required Complete welds in the 6G position using fixtures and rotating equipment Clean, grind, inspect, and repair welds before moving products to the next operation Apply welder stamps to carbon steel fittings for traceability Perform welds according to drawings Complete inspection records and required documentation neatly and accurately Follow established company procedures during all welding operations Verify welding machine calibration stickers are current Maintain a neat and clean work area Follow lean manufacturing principles Report unsafe equipment immediately and lock out equipment until repairs are completed Follow company safety policies and procedures Use flame cutting equipment when instructed Safely operate hand and power tools Participate in a hands-on interview including a 6G weld test and blueprint reading Qualifications Good verbal and written communication skills Qualified in FCAW for carbon steel Qualified in SMAW for carbon steel and stainless steel MIG aluminum welding is an asset Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Ability to read blueprints 5-10 years of experience in a pipe fabrication environment Job Type Contract To Hire How to Apply Start by submitting your resume or visit KP Staffing Houston for an in-person interview. 10780 Westview Dr Suite G Houston Tx 77043 346-800-2010
