Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welder specializing in MIG and TIG welding to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welds on various materials, including sheet metal and pipe components, to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Your mechanical knowledge, fabrication skills, and ability to interpret drawings/blueprints will be essential in delivering durable, safe, and compliant metal assemblies. Duties Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metals, including steel, aluminum, and other alloys, following detailed blueprints and schematics. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication. Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to prepare materials before welding. Measure materials precisely with calipers and micrometers to maintain tight tolerances according to project specifications. Conduct pipe threading, assembly, rigging, and mechanical fitting tasks as needed for complex fabrications. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to welding operations and construction site practices. Collaborate with team members on-site or in manufacturing facilities to complete projects efficiently while ensuring compliance with ASME codes & standards. Skills Proven experience in construction site environments with a strong understanding of safety procedures. Expertise in MIG (GMAW) welding techniques with the ability to switch seamlessly between MIG and TIG (GTAW) processes. Experience with FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) for specific applications requiring high deposition rates. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately for precise fabrication work. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment. Mechanical knowledge related to rigging, pipe threading, machining, soldering, ductwork installation, and assembly processes. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary during fabrication tasks. Experience working with ASME and AWS welding standards or similar regional codes. Knowledge of forklift operation and crane handling for material movement on-site or in manufacturing settings. Ability to interpret technical schematics involving schematics related to mechanical systems or piping layouts.
