Job Title:
Welder Job Description This role focuses on welding and assembling industrial electrical panels and structural steel frames based on detailed prints and work instructions. You will perform MIG welds on stainless and mild steel, fabricate and assemble steel parts using hand and power tools, and prepare finished products for shipment while maintaining high quality standards through precise measurement and inspection. Responsibilities Weld industrial electrical panels in accordance with prints and written work instructions. Perform MIG welds on stainless steel and mild steel components to meet structural and quality requirements. Assemble steel structures and frames for commercial electrical panels, ensuring proper fit and alignment. Stage and organize completed products for shipment following assembly, maintaining an efficient workflow. Use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure all parts meet quality standards. Carry out assembly and fabrication of steel parts using appropriate hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints to guide welding, fitting, and fabrication tasks. Assist with panel assembly and structural steel work as needed across different production lines. Operate a tow motor to move materials, components, and finished assemblies safely within the facility. Collaborate with team members, offering help where needed to support production goals and maintain a smooth operation. Essential Skills Proficiency in MIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints for welding, fitting, and fabrication work. Strong tape measure skills with the ability to take accurate measurements; inability to do so is disqualifying for this role. Hands-on experience with assembly and fabrication of steel parts using hand and power tools. Capability to assemble structural steel and frames for industrial and commercial electrical panels. Skill in fitting and fabrication to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity of assemblies. Ability to operate a tow motor safely within a production environment. Reliability and willingness to assist in various tasks to support the team and production needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with structural steel work and panel assembly. Comfort working from prints and work instructions in a production setting. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards. Work Environment The role is based in a clean manufacturing facility with large bay doors that remain open, providing an open-air workspace that is not temperature controlled. The site has recently expanded with a third building and two additional production lines, reflecting growth and increased production capacity. You will work around industrial welding and fabrication equipment, hand and power tools, and tow motors in an active shop environment, with a focus on safety, organization, and efficient workflow. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cleveland, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
