Job Description

Pipe Welder / Pipe Fitter Overview We are seeking an experienced Pipe Welder/Fitter to join our growing team. This position involves fabricating, fitting, and welding carbon and stainless steel components for heavy industrial applications. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working from engineering drawings, welding in multiple positions, and performing repair work on castings while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Key Duties Fabricate, fit, and weld steel and stainless steel assemblies using a variety of welding methods. Perform welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate fabrication. Repair castings by addressing cracks, surface defects, and material voids using welding restoration techniques. Complete weld build-up and material replacement procedures to restore damaged components. Operate carbon arc gouging equipment to remove defective welds or excess material. Use grinders, chisels, and finishing tools to prepare and clean completed weldments. Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and production requirements. Required Qualifications At least four years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing, industrial, shipyard, or similar environment. Proficiency with MIG (GMAW), Flux Core (FCAW), Stick (SMAW), TIG (GTAW), and/or Submerged Arc Welding (SAW). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical documentation. Experience welding in multiple positions, including vertical and overhead applications. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with coworkers when needed. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Preferred Experience Current or previous welding certifications such as AWS or ASME credentials. Experience welding aluminum materials using MIG or TIG processes. Experience using air carbon arc gouging equipment. Previous employment in heavy industrial manufacturing, foundry operations, petrochemical facilities, marine/shipbuilding, or energy-related industries. Employees work in a large manufacturing environment that includes fabrication bays, welding stations, and heavy industrial equipment. Conditions may vary throughout the year and can include exposure to heat, cold, moisture, and noise typical of a production setting.

Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime based on production needs. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Tacoma, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48484.80•$66560.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
