Job Title:

Welder First Shift (MIG/Flux Core/TIG) Job Description This full-time first-shift welder role focuses on tack welding and production welding of stainless steel and other metals to produce sub-assemblies for hydraulic cylinders, swivels, and related components. You will work from weld procedures and blueprints, set up your own jobs using fixtures and jigs, and contribute to both volume production runs and custom orders that support the automotive, construction equipment, and other OEM industries. Responsibilities Perform tack welding and production welding in accordance with provided weld procedures and work instructions. Set up welding jobs using appropriate fixtures and jigs to ensure accuracy and repeatability. Weld a wide range of similar and dissimilar metals, with a strong focus on stainless steel, to create sub-assemblies for cylinders and swivels. Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine weld size, location, and sequence. Use MIG (hard-wire), flux core, and, when needed, TIG or arc welding processes to complete assigned work. Inspect welds visually and verify conformance to quality standards and specifications. Adjust welding parameters and equipment settings to achieve proper penetration, bead appearance, and weld integrity. Handle both high-volume production runs and custom, one-off parts as required by customer orders. Collaborate with other welders and fabrication team members to balance workload and meet production schedules. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling of tools, fixtures, and materials. Perform grinding, burning, and basic fabrication tasks associated with preparing and finishing welded assemblies. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe operation of welding and fabrication equipment. Demonstrate flexibility with start times and occasional minimal overtime to support departmental needs. Essential Skills Experience welding gained through a high school welding class or comparable hands-on practice; 02 years of professional welding work experience is acceptable. Proficiency with MIG welding (hard-wire) in a production or shop environment. Ability to perform flux core welding on a variety of metals. Basic TIG and arc welding familiarity sufficient to support general fabrication needs. Ability to weld stainless steel and other similar and dissimilar metals to specified quality standards. Capability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols. Experience setting up welding jobs using fixtures and jigs. Comfort working in a job shop environment that includes burning, grinding, and general fabrication activities. Willingness to work first shift with flexibility to start as early as 5:00 a.m. depending on departmental needs. Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a welding or fabrication shop environment. Experience producing sub-assemblies for hydraulic cylinders, swivels, or similar components. Exposure to supporting automotive, construction equipment, or OEM manufacturing. Ability to adapt to both high-volume production runs and custom, one-off projects. Strong attention to detail and quality in weld appearance and structural integrity. Willingness to participate in performance reviews and continuous improvement efforts. Why Work Here? Employees benefit from a stable organization that offers comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, along with a 401(k) plan to support long-term financial goals. Paid time off is provided, with additional time potentially negotiable for more experienced hires. The company hosts an annual party to celebrate the team, and conducts 60-, 90-, and 120-day performance reviews that can provide opportunities for pay increases based on performance. Team members also have access to a convenient, low-cost uniform and clothing cleaning service, helping reduce out-of-pocket expenses and keeping workwear in good condition. Work Environment This role is based in a climate-controlled facility that is notably clean for a welding and fabrication environment, while still reflecting the realities of a typical job shop where burning, grinding, and metal fabrication can make work areas dirty at times. You will work a first-shift schedule with core hours of approximately 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and some departments may start as early as 5:00 a.m., so flexibility with start times is important. Occasional overtime may be required, generally limited to about 23 hours per week when staffing is tight. The shop uses MIG, flux core, TIG, and arc welding processes, along with fixtures, jigs, and standard fabrication tools. Uniforms are provided, and a cleaning service is available at a low cost to employees, supporting a consistent and practical dress standard appropriate for welding and fabrication work.
