Our network of clubs offers a wide range high-quality boats, outstanding customer service, and expert marine operating centers (MOC), all fueled by our passion for the boating lifestyle As part of the MOC team, the Marine Bottom Painter is a position that is responsible for applying paint coatings on variety of marine vessels utilizing specialized equipment, including spray equipment or by hand. The candidate is required to adhere to safety guidelines, applicable laws, and regulations. The ideal candidate should possess a pleasant demeanor and works well with others. This is a full-time position. At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver. Prepare boat bottoms by scraping, sanding, grinding and cleaning Apply multiple coats of epoxy primer, anti-fouling paints, etc. Identify paint types and understand appropriate applications Assist with cleaning, hauling, rigging and launching vessels Assist with boat unloading, loading and moving boats in the yard to stage for rigging Training provided to further skills for rigging and preventative maintenance on fleet vessels Prepping, sanding, bagging, and protecting areas to always acquire a professional finish Proper storage and disposal of Hazardous Materials (i.e., Solvents, Paint & Paint related waste) Responsible for ensuring completion of work within schedule provided Keep accurate records of your duties and work performed, including the vessel and hull number for work orders, timecards etc. Assist with other Yard and Vessel maintenance operations as needed Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers Maintain company equipment to ensure good working order; report any issues to the appropriate manager Follow safety rules, applicable laws, and regulations Must be able to wear a respirator and other proper protective gear as needed Maintain a satisfactory attendance record, including availability for potential overtime Performs other duties as assigned by manager Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way. Must be at least 21 years old Marine or marina experience is preferred Boating experience in and around boats is preferred Must be a team player Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity Good attention to detail High School degree Valid driver's license and good driving record Must pass a background and drug screening Performs work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Operates boats, motorized vehicles, small handheld power tools, and other equipment. Moves up to 50 pounds and performs tasks requiring physical exertion. Adjusts to various physical positions as needed to perform repair tasks, such as accessing items at ground level, working in limited spaces, or operating at elevated heights (less than one story). Works safely near water and on docks. Ascends/ descends ladders to board/ depart vessels. Travel for offsite meetings may be required on occasion. The anticipated pay for this position is $19.00 to $21.00, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
