Job Description

Mission Statement:
Bean's Cafe exists to fight hunger for all ages, one meal at a time, while providing a pathway to self-sufficiency with dignity and respect.
Job Summary :
The Communications Manager will help to create and promote the organization's identity and mission to donors, volunteers, the public at large, and employees through all outlets of communications. The Communications Manager will be responsible for internal and external communications sent from Bean's Cafe to ensure a consistent voice while increasing brand awareness, employee morale, and boosting donations.
Supports Vision:
The Communications Manager supports the mission of Bean's Cafe by spreading the word and the mission/vision of Bean's Cafe to internal and external stakeholders.
Duties/Responsibilities :
Work with the Director of Development & Community Relations to create and maintain a communication plan on behalf of the organization. Ensures that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand. Promotes and reports on organizational milestones and activities such as goals and projects; new products or services; community service or donor related activities. Maintains all social media platforms daily. Monitor, analyze, and update the website regularly. Maintains communication support with donors, supporters and volunteers through emails and appeals. Maintains and updates brochures, annual and impact reports, and collateral for donor meetings. Produces from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and/or print, and communication materials for the organization. Arranges for photography and/or press coverage and other related communication/development support for events. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Office 365. Proficient in Photoshop and/or other digital and graphic editing software. Proficient with social media, press releases, and communication platforms and best practices. Strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills. Ability to exercise good judgment in various situations. Ability to understand the mission of Beans Cafe, Inc. and support it. Ability to work with a diverse population including underprivileged adults, individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse issues, individuals with a criminal history and individuals with domestic abuse issues. Must be creative and enjoy working within a mission-driven, results-driven, and community-oriented environment. Comfortable navigating changes in a positive and mission driven manner. Ability to work flexible schedule depending on organizational needs, including weekends and holidays. Ability to undergo a background check (please note; undergoing a background check will not inhibit you from being hired - Bean's Cafe is a Second Chance Employer).
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field is highly preferred or five years of comparable experience in marketing or a related field. Experience with databases.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to work with background distractions. Must have normal range of hearing and vision with or without correction, and have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Must be able to lift 50 pounds from the ground up. Must have manual dexterity sufficient to use technology, office equipment and supplies, etc.
