About the role | Ko te mahi nei As a Community Development Advisor, you'll work alongside local communities to help build stronger, more connected, and resilient neighbourhoods across Christchurch. You'll support community-led initiatives, foster meaningful partnerships, and empower people from diverse backgrounds to identify and develop solutions to local challenges.

Key tasks include:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with community organisations, stakeholders, and Council teams. Supporting the delivery of the Community Board Plan & provide advice and guidance to help community groups understand and navigate local government processes. Facilitating partnerships between communities and the Council to support sustainable community outcomes. Leading the implementation of the Council's Strengthening Communities Strategy and Community Grants Schemes. Providing professional advice and recommendations to decision-makers regarding community resources and initiatives. Working flexibly, including occasional meetings outside normal business hours. About you | Ko Koe Tēnei You'll be a relationship-focused professional with a genuine passion for community development and creating positive outcomes for people. We're looking for someone who has: Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Proven experience building and maintaining positive working relationships.
