Dispatcher Job Description Overview Schedule:

Full-Time Rotating Shifts (6pm to 6am OR 6am - 6pm)

Public Safety Primary Responsibilities:

Serves as a vital communication link between the IU Health Department of Public Safety and the guests and team members of IU Health. Works independently in a high-stress environment while receiving and evaluating incoming emergency and administrative calls for service. Triages requests for service, provides guidance and assistance, and coordinates appropriate responses. Utilizes proper radio communication . Enters and maintains accurate computer records in various programs, including a Computer Aided Dispatch System. Completes all annual training and certification requirements. Assists with various administrative duties as necessary.

Candidate Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED is required. Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience. Must not have convictions for felony or violent misdemeanor offenses. Requires working knowledge of computers and various software programs. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug screen. Must be able to obtain

IDACS/NCIC

certification and access. Have never had law enforcement officer license denied by final order or revoked. Not currently on suspension or have a voluntary surrender of a law enforcement license currently in effect.
