Job Description

This position supports the college's enrollment strategy through recruitment activities and community outreach events. Assists prospective and current students, community members in connecting with the college and supportive resources. The position will seek and participate in community recruitment opportunities to promote and inform our service area of Bladen Community College. This position will support engagement both in the community and at our college campus. Community engagement work entails recruiting, training, campus tours, and leading the community in educational activities around festivals, fairs, at libraries, downtown, inside and outside of businesses and industries and sharing our educational resources with communities of faith, business community partners, and nonprofit partners. This position provides courteous and professional customer service in all interactions
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. Develop a recruitment plan to include a schedule of recruiting locations and campus tours. Develop and maintain positive relationships with high school and other guidance counselors/officers, and community partners. Markets and promotes class offerings/event/activities internally and externally to create a greater awareness of college offerings to all target demographic groups. Assist in the preparation of and participate in all on-campus recruiting events and represent the college at community events, such as open houses, career fairs, and one-on-one meetings, flexing schedule to participate in evening and weekend events as needed. Conduct site tours as scheduled and as needed for prospective students, families, and partners. Provide information regarding admissions requirements and program benefits to prospective students, partners, and businesses. Discuss with interested students and their families on programs and services available at the college. Participates in academic departmental information sessions to greet and welcome potential students into the program. Build and maintain Client Relationship Management (CRM) database including tracking opportunities, updating project information and status, maintaining information and contacts produced from outreach. Maintain contact with interested students utilizing all available communication tools to ensure completion of the application and to increase yield of enrolled students. Assist with ambassador engagement with college and community Assist with various marketing and event planning tasks under the direction of the VP for Institutional Advancement. Attend and contribute to all team meetings and any special or emergency meetings Complete and submit required materials in a timely manner such as weekly reports, contact information, and follow up requests Serves on appointed institutional committees as needed. Ability to work flexible hours. Performs other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE
Associate degree (bachelor's preferred) with at least two years of experience in higher education, or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to write reports and correspondence, and the ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from students, faculty members, administrators and other staff at the college.
