Job Description

Overall Function :
The Community Engagement Specialist provides day-to-day support for fundraising initiatives, administrative support for donor relations and special events, marketing activities, community outreach, and volunteer management. This position helps ensure development projects are well organized, donor information is maintained accurately, and fundraising and marketing activities are completed efficiently, while providing excellent customer service to internal and external constituents and maintaining a professional demeanor. Marketing, Administrative and Data Responsibilities Attend staff meetings and other required meetings as needed. Maintain the CSCGLV Info email account. Maintain an event calendar.
Database management:
Update donor/partner information to maintain database accuracy.
Gift Management:
Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters for donors. Run reports/mailing lists as requested.
Clerical Support:
o Ability to work with spreadsheets, Word documents, and mailing lists. o Sort mail and distribute. o Make copies/packets as requested.
Marketing Support:
Create graphics in Canva. Schedule posts for LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. Assist with creating and sending emails in MailChimp and Gnosis. Liaise with printers on projects. Provide occasional website support for CSCGLV and event-specific sites. Provide event support as needed. Other duties as assigned. Volunteer Responsibilities Volunteer and Outreach Coordination. Recruit, screen, and conduct orientation sessions for new volunteers. Act as the volunteer substitute when there are not enough volunteers in attendance. Maintain and update the volunteer database/spreadsheet, ensuring accurate contact details, tracking participation opportunities, and logging volunteer hours. Organize projects for office volunteers. Coordinate, schedule, and supervise event volunteers for all CSCGLV events and outreach activities. Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, maintaining active communication regarding upcoming opportunities and schedules. Support the Director of Development and Marketing in organizing and executing community outreach initiatives, health and wellness fairs, third-party fundraisers, and internal organization events. Serve as an organizational ambassador by attending community events and managing booth logistics, volunteers, and promotional materials. Assist in fostering relationships with community partners, donors, and local organizations to expand outreach efforts. Provide operational and administrative assistance to support development and marketing goals. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Administrative support role, fundraising, marketing, or customer service experience preferred. Nonprofit experience preferred. Has a passion for the mission of the organization. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or nights.
Strong organizational skills:
ability to work in an organized manner within established procedures. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple tasks, working independently. Ability to use good judgment in making day-to-day decisions. Ability to learn donor management and fundraising software. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with an ability to work cooperatively with a broad range of individuals, including the Board of Directors and donors. Knowledge of Canva and Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and donor database systems. Other Requirements Valid Pennsylvania driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and daily access to a personal vehicle.
Clearances required:
PA Child Abuse History, PA State Police Criminal Background, FBI Fingerprint. Required to stand, sit, and demonstrate manual dexterity regularly. Occasionally, lifting moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) may be required during the workday.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
