Independent Contractor (1099) About the Role We are seeking a creative and reliable Social Media Manager to lead and execute our social media presence during the winter season. This role is responsible for planning, creating, and publishing engaging content that promotes skiing, snowboarding, tubing, events, and the overall guest experience. This is a part-time, seasonal contractor role ideal for someone who understands winter sports culture and can capture the energy of a ski resort. Key Responsibilities Plan and execute a monthly social media content calendar across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) Create and publish engaging content including photos, videos, reels, and stories Capture on-site content as needed (events, powder days, terrain park, guest experiences) Write compelling captions that align with brand voice and promotions Promote events, ticket deals, and season passes Monitor comments and messages and respond in a timely manner Stay on top of trends and incorporate relevant ideas into content Collaborate with marketing team on campaigns and promotions Provide basic performance reporting and insights (monthly or as requested) Expectations Consistent posting schedule (to be agreed upon, typically 5-7 posts per week + stories) Availability during key moments (snowstorms, weekends, events, holidays) Ability to capture real-time content when conditions are best Strong communication and responsiveness Meet agreed deadlines for content and campaigns Maintain brand voice and visual consistency Self-directed and able to manage workload independently Qualifications Proven experience managing social media accounts Strong photography and video skills (mobile is fine, but quality matters) Familiarity with Instagram Reels, TikTok, and short-form video trends Passion for skiing, snowboarding, or outdoor recreation is a strong plus Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when needed Compensation & Structure $2,000/month contractor rate 10-15 hours per week expected Contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and cell phone Potential for renewal or expanded role based on performance Success in This Role Looks Like Growth in engagement and followers Consistent, high-quality content output Capturing the energy and excitement of the mountain
