About Habitat Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga is an ecumenical Christian non-profit organization focused on housing solutions and neighborhood revitalization that benefits families and individuals in Chattanooga through home repairs, new construction and other direct services. The Housing Programs Engagement Coordinator provides administrative and programmatic support for Habitat for Humanity's Homeownership and Critical Home Repair Programs. This position serves as a key point of contact for current and prospective program participants, assisting with homeowner records, program intake, sweat equity tracking, and works interdepartmentally managing volunteer inquiries. The position helps create a seamless, mission-centered experience that reflects Habitat's commitment to dignity, partnership, and community impact. This onsite position is full-time, non-exempt, and may require occasional evening or weekend hours to support volunteer builds, ReStore needs, homeowner classes, or special events. Duties, responsibilities, requirements, and activities may change, and/or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. Duties I. Homeowner Engagement & Sweat Equity Support
  • Coordinate homeowner sweat equity opportunities across Construction sites, ReStore operations, and other approved activities.
  • Track and document sweat equity participation and maintain accurate records.
  • Respond to homeowner and applicant inquiries regarding property information, mortgage details, program requirements, and related services as needed.
  • Build positive relationships with Habitat homeowners and program participants.
  • Identify and connect participants who may be willing to share their Habitat experiences for marketing, fundraising, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with staff to support storytelling, impact reporting, and related communications efforts.
  • Support the intake process for Critical Home Repair and other Homeownership programs. II. Volunteer Engagement & Coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and welcoming presence for volunteer inquiries.
  • Respond to volunteer inquiries and coordinate opportunities in partnership with Construction and ReStore leadership.
  • Support volunteer orientations, ensuring volunteers understand Habitat's mission, homeowner partnership model, and safety expectations.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records, including volunteer hours and participation data.
  • Flags and connects potential donors to Development department.
  • Presents a worksite welcome and safety talks. Required Qualifications
  • Commitment to Habitat's mission, vision, and values; ability to work effectively and respectfully with people of diverse beliefs and backgrounds.
  • High School diploma, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in volunteer coordination, program support, or community engagement preferred.
  • Willingness to work Saturdays occasionally.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple schedules and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Comfort interacting with diverse audiences, including volunteers, donors, and partner families, maintaining client confidentiality when appropriate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn internal data systems.
  • Ability to have regular and predictable attendance.
  • Valid, state-issued Driver's License with the ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Background check and drug screen required.
Pay:
From $19.23 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
