Position Summary :

The Amarillo Sod Poodles (Prairie Dogs), Double A Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks are seeking a bright, talented and driven individual to join our staff of seasoned industry professionals as the Social Media Manager. Awarded by MiLB as the 2023 Minor League Organization of the Year, The Sod Poodles reside in a wonderful growing community of Amarillo Texas and play their games in one of the most beautiful ballparks in America, HODGETOWN. The Amarillo Sod Poodles Social Media Manager is an expert at creating entertaining, innovative and timely content that drives engagement and supports community growth. The manager is a savvy, highly collaborative individual that is able to leverage game highlights, player interviews, and trending topics in real-time to capitalize on content opportunities that amplify our voice and brand.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for creating and posting social media content that maximizes engagement and amplifies the organization's priority messages.
• Act as key contributor to real-time content as part of game coverage.
• Assist in executing social sponsorship activations.
• Assist in creating graphics for social media.
• Monitor and assess social media analytics to identify areas of improvement.
• Produce social content that is optimized to fit each channel and audience.
• Assist Dir. of Marketing in managing content creation schedule and social media publishing calendar.
• Engage Sod Poodles social accounts in conversation in an authentic voice to grow connections and followers.
• Quickly recognize and react to real-time trends and current events.
• Stay informed on social media trends, including developments in video and design, platforms, best practices, strategies, and innovations to stay relevant and effective.
• Constantly develop skills and explore new creative techniques.
• Communicate creative ideas within a collaborative environment with the communication and marketing team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in digital, social media or copywriting.
• Professional sports, college or minor league team experience preferred.
• Proficient within Adobe Suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
• Experience creating and distributing engaging content for social media including X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
• Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with a knowledge of sports, pop culture and entertainment
• Organized, flexible and high attention to detail with ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with a team and take direction, as well as work independently.
• Passion for social media and Sod Poodles baseball.

Work Environment:

• Work is performed in both an office environment as well as outdoors where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
• Hours will include nights, weekends, and holidays.
