Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) is seeking an energetic, part-time (0.5 FTE) Student & Community Engagement Facilitator (One-Year, 2026-2027) to join our Student and Community Engagement team. The successful candidate will help create a welcoming, friendly, and growth-minded environment that ensures the best educational opportunities for all students. In this role, you will support faculty and staff in enhancing student engagement through the ICPD (Identity, Connection, Proficiency, and Direction) Framework, fostering equitable learning environments and strengthening community connections. Primary Responsibilities Assist faculty in designing, implementing, and evaluating Impact Projects and community-based learning initiatives while integrating the ICPD framework. Facilitate individualized and group-based professional learning on ICPD-aligned practices, restorative approaches, and Educational Quality Standards (EQS). Identify and address systemic barriers to learning, particularly for historically marginalized students, and foster affinity spaces for student advocacy. Develop models for community health and outreach, including newcomer support, and build trust-based relationships with students and families. Analyze demographic, behavioral, and academic data to inform equity-driven decisions and identify disparities. Carry out school and district policies with high levels of professional integrity. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess A valid teaching license and experience in educational equity, restorative practices, or student engagement. A commitment to anti-racism, inclusion, and the development of a welcoming environment for all families. The ability to establish professional rapport and serve as a dedicated advocate for students, staff, and diverse stakeholders. Deep understanding of culturally responsive teaching, social-emotional learning (SEL), and trauma-informed practices. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to interpret data to implement systemic improvements. Demonstrated patience when guiding students and a flexible approach to supporting district needs.
