Job Description

Job Overview The Community Liaison / Victim Advocate provides trauma-informed advocacy and support services to survivors of domestic violence while serving as a key connection between Fair Haven and the community. This position combines direct client services with outreach, education, and community engagement to increase awareness of services, strengthen partnerships, and support prevention efforts across Fair Haven's service area. Essential Job FunctionsVictim Advocacy & Direct Services Provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy to individuals experiencing domestic violence. Conduct safety planning, crisis intervention, and risk assessments as needed. Assist clients with accessing resources including housing, employment, healthcare, transportation, and legal services. Provide referrals and follow-up services to ensure continuity of care. Maintain strict client confidentiality in accordance with all federal, state, and organizational requirements. Accurately document all services in CaseWorthy and other required systems in a timely manner. Community Liaison, Outreach & Awareness Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, including law enforcement, schools, healthcare providers, and faith-based organizations. Coordinate and participate in outreach activities, awareness events, and community presentations within service counties. Provide educational presentations on domestic violence, prevention, and available services. Represent Fair Haven professionally in all community settings. Support prevention-focused messaging that increases awareness and access to services. Marketing, Communication & Event Support Assist with the development and distribution of outreach and informational materials related to domestic violence and survivor services. Support marketing and communication efforts to promote programs, services, and events. Maintain and update social media platforms and assist with website updates as assigned. Collaborate with leadership and the Board of Directors to support fundraising initiatives and community events. Respond to general inquiries and connect individuals to appropriate services. Documentation, Compliance & Administrative Duties Maintain detailed records of outreach activities, partnerships, events, and community engagement efforts. Ensure all documentation meets grant and program compliance requirements (VOCA, FVPSA, VAWA, and other applicable funding sources). Participate in weekly supervision, staff meetings, and required trainings. Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards. Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and handle a high volume of responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications Associate's degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, human services, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience . Minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals in crisis, vulnerable populations, or within a human services setting. Basic knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, trauma, and victim advocacy principles. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment. Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data entry systems). Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within service counties. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field. Experience working in a domestic violence, sexual assault, or victim services program. Experience with case management systems (e.g., CaseWorthy). Experience in community outreach, public education, or partnership development. Experience with social media, content creation, or community engagement strategies.
Pay:
$18,720.00 - $26,000.00 per year
