Job Description

Help Build the Next 80 Years of Neighborhood Neighborhood Home Services has been serving Central Minnesota families for 80 years . We've built our reputation one customer, one home, and one neighborhood at a time. Now we're looking for a creative marketer who wants to help us build what's next. As our Marketing Communications & Creative Specialist , you'll be the person who helps turn ideas into things people actually see and respond to—emails, text campaigns, postcards, graphics, promotions, event materials, customer communications, and more. There's a rhythm to our business. Seasons change. Annual campaigns return. Events come around again. You'll have time to learn what works, plan ahead, improve it, and make it better each year. But home services doesn't always follow the calendar. Sometimes it's Tuesday afternoon and we realize we have more appointment availability than we'd like for the rest of the week. That's when Marketing gets to move. The Big Task Turn what the business needs into marketing that makes customers take action—and make sure our teams are ready when they do. That means helping us tell the right story, to the right people, at the right time. You'll work alongside Marketing leadership and our Operations and Production teams to understand what the business needs and determine how Marketing can support it. Sometimes you'll be designing next month's direct-mail campaign. Sometimes you'll be preparing for a community event. Sometimes you'll be building an email or SMS campaign. And sometimes you'll need to shift gears, help create a promotion, get the message out, and generate calls. We want someone who enjoys that balance: enough structure to develop a rhythm, with enough diversity to keep the work interesting. What You'll Do Your work will generally fall into five areas: Create. Design graphics and marketing materials and write customer-facing content for email, SMS, direct mail, print, digital, social, promotions, and events. Build & Launch Campaigns. Help take campaigns from idea to execution, including email and SMS marketing, seasonal promotions, direct mail, customer reactivation, memberships, and lead-generation initiatives. Connect Marketing to the Business. Work with Operations, Production, Service, Sales, and our Call Center to understand what customers are asking for, where opportunities exist, and what messaging or materials our teams need to successfully support a campaign. Coordinate the Details. Work with printers, agencies, media partners, and other vendors to keep projects moving, review proofs, manage deadlines, and make sure the finished product is right. Bring Neighborhood Into the Community. Help coordinate home shows, community events, sponsorships, customer events, company activities, and other opportunities to strengthen our local presence. There will be plenty of variety, but you won't be expected to do everything in Marketing by yourself. You'll have leadership setting direction, operational teams bringing their expertise, and outside partners supporting specialized work. Your job is to take those pieces and help turn them into great marketing that gets results. Who We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you're someone who can be both creative and organized . You enjoy designing something one day and digging into campaign results the next. You can manage recurring projects without getting bored by them, but you're also comfortable when priorities occasionally change. Most importantly, you don't need every step mapped out for you. Give you the objective, audience, and parameters, and you're comfortable figuring out how to get from an idea to a finished product. We're looking for someone with: Experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, content, or a related field Strong graphic design and visual communication skills Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills Experience with email, SMS, digital, social, print, or direct-mail marketing Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Confidence working with vendors and internal teams Attention to detail without losing sight of the purpose behind the work Curiosity about what makes customers respond and campaigns perform A willingness to learn new tools, systems, and parts of the business Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, ServiceTitan, Marketing Pro, CRM/marketing automation, commercial printing, direct mail, photography, videography, or home services marketing is a plus. You don't need to check every box. We're more interested in finding someone who can create, communicate, learn, and execute. What Success Looks Like You'll know you're succeeding when campaigns are going out on time, our materials look great, our teams know what we're promoting, and Marketing is helping create measurable opportunities for the business. Over time, you'll develop a rhythm around our seasons, promotions, events, and recurring campaigns—and you'll help us make them better every year. You'll also learn the business well enough to recognize when that rhythm needs to change. When calls slow down, a new opportunity comes up, or Operations needs Marketing's help, you'll be ready to shift priorities and help us respond. Benefits & Perks We offer eligible full-time employees: Health & Dental Insurance — 100% company-paid for employee-only coverage HSA plans with company contribution
SIMPLE IRA
with company match Optional vision, life, and short-term disability insurance Optional LegalShield, accident, and cancer insurance Paid time off 6 paid holidays Your birthday as a floating paid holiday Family-inclusive company outings, including baseball games, hockey games, and other company events Why Neighborhood? Eighty years is a long time for a local company to earn the trust of its community. We're proud of that history—but we're not interested in simply doing things the way they've always been done. We're continuing to improve how we serve customers, how our teams work together, and how we grow the business. Marketing is an important part of that next chapter. For the right person, this is an opportunity to have real creative ownership without carrying an entire marketing department on your shoulders. You'll have recurring work you can master, new projects that keep things interesting, people across the business to collaborate with, and the opportunity to see your ideas move from your screen into the real world—and ultimately into calls, customers, and jobs for our team. We're looking for someone who wants to help us take an 80-year Neighborhood legacy and build it into the next 80. Interested? Send us your resume and, if you have one, a portfolio or a few examples of work you're proud of. We want to see what you've created—and hear how you'd help us create what's next.
