Aug 24, 2026 Job Description The Graphics and Content Coordinator will oversee the design, development and maintenance of communications materials and website for Paterson Public Schools. Working with the Director of Communications, the coordinator will be responsible for the creation of effective and timely products that support the efforts of the department to communicate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, graphics design, or related field from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 2 years of experience in website, digital content creation, and/or graphic design Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in digital communication tools, social media management, and website content management systems. Utilize Google Suite for document creation, data management, and communication. Must be available on weekends and evenings, as needed. Must be available during emergency closures, as needed. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all communications. Knowledge of graphic design, photography, and video editing is a plus. Collaborate with team members to streamline administrative processes and improve efficiency. Job Functions and Responsibilities Maintain, update, and oversee the district website and track the content development process. Provide technical assistance and coordinate training for schools, as needed. Oversee the graphic design and development of district print and digital communications materials, including newsletters, brochures, presentations, web content, and other multimedia materials. Develop content that highlights district events, achievements, milestones, and recognitions. Coordinate, operate, and provide technical support for the livestreaming of Board of Education meetings and other district events. Work with the Communications Director and communications staff to create new and dynamic ways to communicate with students, staff, and district stakeholders. Strive to maintain a consistent visual image throughout all district communications materials; ensure brand consistency across all digital platforms and throughout the website. Coordinate district photography and videography efforts, as requested. Attend and record significant school and district events. Maintain organized, up to date photo and video archives. Maintain current knowledge of digital technologies, platforms, and communications practices to support the quality and effectiveness of district communications. Provide assistance and technical support during district presentations, as requested. Assist with the timely distribution of vital information and emergency notifications to parents, students, and staff, through district communications platforms, including social media, the district website, and SchoolMessenger, as directed by the Director of Communications. The responsibility may require evening and/or weekend hours, as needed. Develop and evaluate monthly analytics reports and identify trends, key findings, and opportunities to improve content performance and engagement for review by the Director of Communications. Have an understanding and appreciation for the communications needs of a multi-cultural, highly diverse community. Add input into the creative and strategic planning efforts of the Communications Department. Adhere to federal statutes and regulations, New Jersey school law, construction codes, State Board of Education rules and regulations, Board of Education policies, procedures, and contractual obligations. Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment as assigned by the Director of Communications and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.
