MIN $20.5279 - MAX $30.7918 Per Hour DOE/DOQ Job Summary

The Communications & Events Coordinator works directly with the County Manager, Department Heads, and Employees in order to develop, coordinate, and implement communication strategies that promote transparency, public trust, and awareness of County programs, services, and initiatives. The County Services Specialist will develop the employee newsletter, develop material, post and maintain social media pages, issue press releases and assist with public records requests as assigned. Part time - up to 19.75 hours per week. Minimum Qualifications Associates Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism, Communications or a related field required, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Strong writing and oral communication skills.

Strong organizational and computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Mail and Canva or other publishing software.

Ability to communicate effectively in private and public settings with large and small groups of people.

Ability to understand and communicate in English oral and written.

Must be able to transcribe material from dictation and be able to put the material in proper format.

Knowledge of website design, maintenance and social media required.

Ability to interact professionally with supervisor, subordinates and other co-workers.

Ability to work independently of daily supervision and to exercise discretionary judgment and thinking.

Valid NM Driver's License.

Ability to perform all essential duties as listed below.

Ability to work with the equipment, tools and materials listed below.

Must comply with safety guidelines and policies of the County.
