Title - Content & Public Relations Specialist Job Summary - The Content & Public Relations Specialist is responsible for developing compelling content and securing meaningful media opportunities that strengthen the visibility, credibility and reputation of CMA's clients. This role will support a diverse portfolio of B2B, association and nonprofit clients through strategic public relations, media relations and content development across digital, editorial and promotional channels. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and storyteller who can adapt messaging for different audiences and platforms, identify newsworthy opportunities, build relationships with media contacts and translate complex information into clear, engaging content. Identify proactive media opportunities, story angles, trends and timely topics that position clients and subject matter experts as credible industry resources. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant journalists, editors, publications, trade media and other media contacts. Write, edit and distribute press releases, media pitches, media alerts, contributed articles and other PR materials. Coordinate media interviews and opportunities, including preparing talking points, background materials and spokesperson support. Develop high-quality written content across a variety of formats, including website copy, blogs, featured articles, thought leadership pieces, email content, ad copy and marketing collateral. Interview clients, executives and subject matter experts to uncover insights and translate their expertise into compelling content. Adapt messaging and tone based on the client, audience, platform and communication objective while maintaining brand consistency. Collaborate with CMA's marketing, social media, creative, digital and client service teams to support integrated campaigns and maximize content across multiple channels. Research industries, audiences, competitors and emerging trends to inform content development and uncover relevant communications opportunities. Maintain editorial calendars, media outreach schedules and assigned client deliverables while managing multiple deadlines and priorities. Track media outreach, placements and content performance and contribute to client reporting and recommendations. Continuously identify opportunities to strengthen client visibility, thought leadership and overall communications effectiveness. Required Skills Technical Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and storytelling skills Strong understanding of public relations and media relations best practices Experience developing media pitches, press releases and contributed articles Ability to write effectively across multiple formats, including website copy, blogs, feature articles, thought leadership and advertising copy Strong research and interviewing skills Ability to identify compelling story angles and distinguish between marketing messaging and newsworthy editorial opportunities Experience working with journalists, editors and media outlets Understanding of SEO and digital content best practices preferred Microsoft Office suite experience Experience with media databases, monitoring platforms and/or PR distribution tools preferred Prior agency or multi-client experience preferred B2B, association and nonprofit communications experience a plus Interpersonal Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to prioritize and manage multiple client assignments and deadlines Strong time management and organizational skills Proactive, resourceful and solutions-oriented approach Strong attention to detail Comfortable interviewing executives and subject matter experts Collaborative and able to work effectively across multiple departments and levels of an organization Ability to receive feedback and adapt writing and communications strategies accordingly Education/Experience - Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field and/or 3+ years of relevant experience in public relations, media relations, journalism, content development or agency communications. CMA currently works on a hybrid schedule with 2 days remote and 3 days mandatory in office.
