Responsibilities for Communications Specialist include but are not limited to:
  • Partner with communications leadership to implement and support internal communications strategies.
  • Own content curation, copywriting, editing, and layout for site and organizational newsletters.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for operational communications requests from departments such as Security, EHS, and Facilities.
  • Manage and maintain the site intranet, including drafting, editing, publishing content, and updating site structure and links.
  • Create compelling written content including:
  • Technical stories and employee features
  • Organizational and business updates
  • Event recaps and highlights
  • Leadership and people-focused communications
  • Support social media initiatives through content creation, posting, and audience engagement.
  • Track and analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of newsletters, intranet content, and social media campaigns.
  • Maintain a strong onsite presence to understand site culture and ensure messaging resonates with both technical and non-technical employees.
  • Collaborate with and support the broader communications team on various projects and initiatives. Candidates for Communications Specialist must meet the following requirements to be considered:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of professional experience in communications, internal communications, marketing communications, or related areas.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong content creation, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while incorporating strategic business objectives into deliverables.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to support a hybrid work schedule with approximately 3 days per week onsite in Niskayuna, NY.
  • Experience supporting communications within a corporate, technical, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical information for varied audiences.
  • Familiarity with intranet management, content management systems (CMS), and newsletter distribution platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with an action-oriented and adaptable approach.
  • Experience managing communication metrics and reporting campaign effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of social media content management and audience engagement strategies. What's in this Communications Specialist position for you?

    Pay Details:
