Job Description

Overview Tier One Technologies is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to provide technical support to our US Government client. This hybrid Contract-to-Hire position will be located in Raleigh, NC.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM). Must be available to work on-call, overnights and weekends as needed.
SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
Responsibilities Troubleshoot and resolve network availability and outages specifically WAN related. Work ServiceNow trouble tickets and drive to closure. Work with the vendors to ensure that tickets are resolved and closed in a timely manner. Administer multiple network service requests to vendors providing network services using advanced Telecom Expense Management software. Execute the circuit implementation & disconnect lifecycle of assigned orders related to new installs, migrations, and disconnects and coordinate new upgrades and enhancements. Support and work with Vendors on the day-to-day activities of the WAN escalations. Maintain and improve runbooks, SOPs; share insights and lessons learned with the team. Provide occasional assistance to more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions. Qualifications A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred. 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a college degree is required. If an individual's degree is not in the applicable field then 4 additional years of related experience is required. 3+ years of applicable network experience and support to include SD-WAN, data circuits, network troubleshooting. 2+ years of experience troubleshooting router, switch and modem connections and setup. Prior experience working with Telecom Expense Management software is a PLUS. Familiarity with Cisco and Fortinet is a PLUS. Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams. Must be flexible and willing to work on-call, overnights and weekends as needed. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Must be a US Citizen or have permanent residence status (Green Card). Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance. Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years. Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
