Job Description

Job Description A government agency is seeking a Web Content Specialist to support the management, optimization, and governance of the City's public-facing websites. This individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining website content, managing webforms, ensuring accessibility compliance, implementing SEO best practices, and utilizing web analytics to continuously improve the user experience. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working within Drupal 9 or higher, a solid understanding of website accessibility standards, and the ability to partner with stakeholders across the organization to improve website effectiveness and usability.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, update, and maintain website content and webforms within Drupal.
  • Manage website navigation, user flows, and overall information architecture.
  • Ensure compliance with
WCAG 2.1
AA and Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Conduct website reviews and recommend improvements to accessibility and user experience.
  • Implement content and technical SEO best practices to improve website visibility and performance.
  • Generate, analyze, and present website performance reports using analytics and SEO tools.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and support content initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to improve website usability, engagement, and overall digital experience.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for website contributors and end users.
  • Serve as a web content subject matter expert and provide guidance on content strategy and website governance.

  • 2+ years of experience managing website content in Drupal.
  • Hands-on experience with Drupal 9 or higher.
  • Experience creating and maintaining web content and webforms within Drupal.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with
WCAG 2.1
AA and Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Experience implementing SEO best practices.
  • Experience creating and analyzing website analytics reports.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Experience developing and delivering end-user training.
  • Government or public sector experience.
  • Experience with Siteimprove, Moz, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
  • Understanding of website information architecture, navigation, and user experience (UX) principles.
  • Experience making data-driven recommendations based on website analytics.
  • Basic HTML and CSS knowledge.
  • Experience supporting large, public-facing websites.
