Position Overview:
We are seeking a creative, hands-on, and detail-driven Social Video Editor & Content Producer to join our Marketing team. This role is responsible for filming and editing the short-form video content that carries our brand across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Creative direction, content strategy, and messaging are set by the Brand Marketing Manager.
This role owns the execution:
operating the camera, capturing usable footage, cutting the edit, and delivering platform-ready content on deadline. Content produced in this role supports both organic social channels and paid social advertising campaigns. In addition to strong Adobe Premiere Pro editing expertise, or equivalent proficiency in a comparable professional editing application such as CapCut Desktop. This role requires practical on-set experience with camera, lighting, and audio, working knowledge of native short-form video formats, disciplined asset and file management, and the ability to work comfortably alongside on-camera talent in a fast-paced in-house studio environment. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: Hands-on professional experience editing short-form social video, preferably within an in-house marketing or brand environment. Hands-on experience operating camera, lighting, and audio equipment for studio and on-location shoots. Genuinely comfortable behind the camera and on set, with the confidence to direct framing, coverage, and takes. Open to testing new video formats, edit styles, and shot setups rather than repeating the same template every week. Ability to work collaboratively with non-professional on-camera talent, including staff and clients, while maintaining a comfortable and professional set. Highly organized, deadline-driven, and capable of managing a multi-project editing queue independently. Success in this role looks like: Shooting and cutting our recurring content series independently from a written brief. Turning around standard social edits within agreed timelines without heavy revision cycles. Delivering content that performs natively on each platform and holds viewer attention. Proactively bringing new format ideas to the team and testing them. Maintaining a clean, organized asset library that any team member can navigate.
Key Responsibilities:
Filming & Production Operate camera, lighting, and audio equipment for in-studio and on-location shoots, including run-and-gun mobile shoots. Direct framing, coverage, and takes on set to ensure editable footage, anticipating edit needs before leaving the shoot. Set up and break down the in-house studio; maintain gear, batteries, media cards, and lighting kits. Coach non-professional on-camera talent, including staff, clients, and spokespeople, so they deliver comfortable and usable takes. Capture supporting b-roll, cutaways, and behind-the-scenes footage during every shoot. Editing & Post-Production Edit short-form vertical video in Adobe Premiere Pro, or a comparable professional editing application such as CapCut Desktop, from raw footage through publish-ready export.
Cut for retention:
strong hooks within the first two seconds, tight pacing, and a clear payoff. Add captions, on-screen text, sound design, music, and light motion graphics. Color correct and mix audio to a consistent, professional standard across all content. Build and maintain reusable Premiere templates, presets, and .mogrt title packages so output stays consistent and efficient. Repurpose and re-cut long-form footage into multiple platform-native pieces. Format & Craft Development Contribute format ideas including new edit styles, shot setups, hooks, and content structures worth testing. Stay current on platform trends, editing styles, and audio and format shifts, and translate them into concepts the brand can execute.
Test and iterate:
try new approaches, review performance, and apply learnings to future content. Workflow & Asset Management Maintain organized project files, media, and exports within company cloud storage; all work product remains on company systems and accounts. Meet publishing deadlines and manage a multi-project editing queue. Deliver correctly formatted exports per platform specification, including aspect ratio, resolution, captions, and length. Maintain consistent file naming conventions, version control, and archival practices. Upload, schedule, and publish finished content directly to native platforms as needed, ensuring correct formatting, captions, and posting specifications. Produce content suitable for both organic social channels and paid social advertising, including alternate hooks, lengths, and creative variants for ad testing when requested. Additional Responsibilities Assist with drafting and formatting social media captions, on-screen copy, and hashtag sets as needed, in line with brand voice and direction provided. Assist with studio setup, equipment inventory, and maintenance of company-owned production gear. Support photography and static asset capture as needed for social and paid campaigns. Document editing workflows, template usage, and production procedures. Perform additional marketing and production-related duties and projects as assigned. Occasional shoots outside standard business hours for events or on-location production when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
2-4 years of hands-on professional experience editing short-form social video, with a reel or portfolio of published work. Strong, demonstrable Adobe Premiere Pro skills, including multicam editing, audio mixing, color correction, captioning, and dynamic linking. Equivalent demonstrable proficiency in a comparable professional editing application, such as CapCut Desktop, will be considered, with willingness to work primarily in Adobe Premiere Pro. Hands-on experience with camera operation, including framing, exposure, lighting fundamentals, and clean audio capture. Working knowledge of what performs natively on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, rather than repurposed horizontal video. Experience delivering platform-specific exports to correct technical specification. Strong organizational skills with file management, naming conventions, and version control. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable working on-site in Encino and being on set regularly.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with motion graphics and animated titles in Adobe After Effects, or a comparable application such as DaVinci Resolve Fusion, Apple Motion, or Blender. Proficiency in graphic and static asset creation using Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Adobe Express, Affinity Photo, or Figma. Experience shooting and editing testimonial, interview, or talking-head content. Basic understanding of paid social creative, including hooks, variants, and creative testing. Experience with caption tools and auto-transcription workflows. Experience using native platform publishing tools or a social scheduling platform. Interest in personal finance, tax, or service-industry marketing.
Education & Experience:
Candidates must meet one of the following combinations of education and relevant professional experience: Bachelor's degree in Film, Video Production, Broadcast Media, Communications, Marketing, or a similar field, and 2+ years of professional short-form social video editing experience; or Associate degree, technical certificate, or completed accredited program in video production, media arts, or a similar field, and 2-3+ years of professional short-form social video editing experience; or No formal degree, and 4+ years of professional short-form social video editing experience with a demonstrated portfolio of published work. Relevant professional experience is defined as paid, full-time-equivalent work producing and editing video content for social media channels. Freelance, contract, agency, and in-house brand experience are all considered. Personal or unpublished passion projects may supplement, but do not substitute for, professional experience.
Portfolio Requirement:
Submission of a reel or portfolio of published short-form social video work is required for consideration. Candidates should be prepared to discuss their role in each submitted piece, including which portions they filmed versus edited.
Tools & Equipment:
Adobe Creative Cloud license, in-house video studio, camera and lighting equipment, workstation, and cloud storage are company-provided. All filming and editing is performed on company-issued equipment and company accounts.
