We're looking for creative, curious, and motivated individuals to join our summer marketing and communications team. You'll spend your summer immersed in our camp programs, capturing the people, experiences, and moments that make True Friends special. Depending on your experience and interests, you may focus primarily on photography, multimedia content creation, written storytelling and communications, or a combination of these areas. This is a hands-on opportunity to build your portfolio, gain real-world nonprofit marketing and communications experience, and create content that makes an impact. Where You Could Work You'll work across multiple True Friends camp locations, including: Camp Friendship | Annandale, MN — Primary Location Camp Courage | Maple Lake, MN Camp Eden Wood | Eden Prairie, MN Travel between locations may be required based on program and content needs. You don't have to live near a True Friends site to apply! Our camp staff positions offer on-site housing and meals during employment, making this a great opportunity for individuals who live outside the immediate area, including those from other states. What You Might Do Your responsibilities will vary based on your experience, interests, and organizational needs.

You may:

Capture authentic photo and video content of campers, staff, activities, events, and daily camp life Conduct interviews with campers, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners Develop written stories and content for websites, social media, email campaigns, newsletters, and other communications Capture candid and posed photography for marketing, communications, publications, social media, and digital platforms Film interviews, b-roll, lifestyle footage, and other multimedia content Edit photo and video content into polished, public-facing materials Identify meaningful moments and stories that demonstrate the impact of True Friends programs Assist with social media content planning and storytelling Collaborate with the Marketing team and other departments on creative projects and campaigns Contribute creative ideas for storytelling, communications, and seasonal campaigns Organize, label, and manage digital media and content assets Support media outreach, press releases, and other communications projects as appropriate Support special marketing and communications projects Perform other duties as assigned Find Your Fit During the application and prescreen process, we'll learn more about your experience, interests, creative strengths, and goals.

What You'll Gain Hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing and communications A diverse professional portfolio Experience in photography, writing, interviewing, video, editing, or content development Exposure to social media, digital marketing, public relations, and storytelling Experience collaborating with marketing and communications professionals Experience working in a mission-driven organization and active camp environment The opportunity to create work that highlights the experiences and abilities of individuals with disabilities Schedule Full-time seasonal position, typically early June through mid-August Specific schedules and time commitments vary based on program and assignment May include weekdays, evenings, and weekends Travel between True Friends camp locations may be required Specific schedules and time commitments will be discussed during the hiring process What You'll Bring to the Table Must be at least 18 years of age Experience or demonstrated interest in photography, video, writing, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field Strong communication and organizational skills Creativity and a strong eye for compelling stories and moments Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines Initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn Comfort working in active, outdoor, and changing environments Ability to work around campers, staff, volunteers, and individuals with a range of abilities and needs Ability to pass the required organizational background study A portfolio, reel, writing sample, photography examples, or other examples of your work are highly valued. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is an active position that involves working across camp locations and program areas.

Staff should be prepared to:

Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including sun, heat, and rain Spend extended periods standing and walking while gathering stories or capturing content Bend, reach, kneel, crouch, and navigate uneven terrain Move through active program areas to document activities and events Lift, carry, and transport cameras, computers, tripods, lighting, props, or other equipment and supplies as needed Maintain focus and attention to detail while working on your feet for extended periods Use computers, phones, cameras, editing software, and other technology throughout the workday Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Work around campers, staff, volunteers, and individuals with a range of abilities and needs Specific physical demands and environmental conditions may vary based on program and assignment. Compensation $15.57 per hour Returning staff may be eligible for higher wages and bonuses On-site housing and meals are provided during employment Interested?
