Summer Camp Multimedia Content Creator Join us in our mission to provide life-changing experiences that enhance independence and self-esteem for children and adults with disabilities! About the Role As a Multimedia Content Creator, you'll help bring the True Friends experience to life through authentic photo and video storytelling. You'll capture the people, programs, and moments that make camp meaningful and turn them into engaging content for social media, websites, marketing campaigns, and other communications.
This is a creative, hands-on role for someone who enjoys visual storytelling, working with people, and capturing authentic moments in an active camp environment. Where You Could Work You'll work across multiple True Friends camp locations, including: Camp Friendship | Annandale, MN
•Primary Location Camp Courage | Maple Lake, MN Camp Eden Wood | Eden Prairie, MN Travel between locations will be required based on program and content needs. You don't have to live near a True Friends site to apply! Our camp staff positions offer on-site housing and meals during employment, making this a great opportunity for individuals who live outside the immediate area, including those from other states! What You'll Do Your responsibilities may include: Capture high-quality photo and video content of campers, staff, events, activities, and daily camp life Film interviews, b-roll, lifestyle footage, and other content that supports True Friends storytelling Identify and capture authentic moments that demonstrate the impact of True Friends programs Edit photo and video content into polished, public-facing materials for social media, websites, marketing campaigns, and other communications Assist with basic graphic design and content editing as needed Collaborate with the Marketing team on creative projects, campaigns, and content plans Pitch creative ideas and contribute to emerging content formats and trends when appropriate Organize, tag, store, and manage digital media assets Maintain organized files and workflows for photo and video content Support special marketing and communications projects Perform other duties as assigned Why You'll Love It Tell meaningful stories: Capture the moments that demonstrate the impact of True Friends Build your portfolio: Create a diverse body of work across photo, video, social media, web, and marketing Get hands-on experience: Work directly in an active nonprofit environment and see your content used in real campaigns Be where the action is: Spend your summer moving between camp programs, activities, and events Work with a creative team: Collaborate with passionate teammates who care about the mission Make an impact: Use your creative skills to help more people understand the possibilities for individuals with disabilities What You'll Gain Hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing and multimedia production A diverse professional portfolio across digital, social, web, and marketing platforms Experience interviewing, storytelling, editing, and content development Opportunities to collaborate with marketing and communications professionals Experience working in a mission-driven organization and active camp environment The opportunity to create work that highlights the abilities, experiences, and accomplishments of individuals with disabilities Schedule Full-time seasonal position, typically early June through mid-August Schedule will vary based on camp programming, events, and content needs May include weekdays, evenings, and weekends Travel between True Friends camp locations will be required Specific schedules and time commitments will be discussed during the hiring process What You'll Bring to the Table Must be at least 18 years of age Experience with photo and video production and editing Familiarity with editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar tools Strong visual storytelling skills and a creative eye Ability to identify compelling moments and translate them into engaging visual content Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively Comfort working in fast-paced, active, and outdoor environments Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities Interest in digital media, marketing, communications, photography, videography, or a related field Ability to pass the required organizational background study A portfolio, reel, or examples of previous photo/video work are highly valued. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is an active position that involves working across camp locations and program areas.
Staff should be prepared to:
Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including sun, heat, and rain Spend extended periods standing and walking while capturing content Bend, reach, kneel, crouch, and navigate uneven terrain Move quickly and safely through active program areas to capture activities and events Lift, carry, and transport cameras, computers, tripods, lighting, props, and other equipment or supplies Maintain focus and attention to detail while working on your feet for extended periods Use computers, phones, cameras, editing software, and other technology throughout the workday Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Work around campers, staff, volunteers, and individuals with a range of abilities and needs Specific physical demands and environmental conditions may vary based on program and assignment. Compensation Multimedia Content Creators are paid an hourly wage: $15.57 per hour Returning staff may be eligible for higher wages and bonuses
