Position Summary The Content Creator & Community Coordinator is an integral piece of the execution engine of the Midwest Photo Marketing department. Working between the part-time Marketing Strategist & Learning Studio Coordinator and the Graphic Designer & Marketing Coordinator, this full-time role owns social media content creation and publishing, video production/editing, and event content capture. The Content Creator & Community Coordinator translates strategic direction into daily content output and ensures the Midwest Photo brand appears consistently, creatively, and on schedule across every channel. This role requires strong in-store presence, cross-departmental initiative, and the ability to manage multiple content streams simultaneously without sacrificing quality. Key Responsibilities Social Media Creation, Editing & Publishing Film, edit, schedule, and publish organic content across Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube, executing against the monthly strategy and content calendar set by the Strategist. Conduct regular in-store content capture sessions (photo and short-form video), coordinating with sales floor staff, department leads, and product vendors to source compelling, on-brand material to showcase promotions, new products, events, and our community. Write captions and social copy consistent with Midwest Photo brand voice guidelines, adapting the tone and format appropriately across platforms, based on audience types and demographics. Manage Metricool scheduling, publishing, and platform-level engagement monitoring; flag performance trends to the Strategist for monthly reporting. Monitor comments, DMs, and community engagement across platforms; respond promptly and escalate as appropriate. Video Production & YouTube Plan, film, edit, and publish long-form and short-form video content for YouTube, including product reviews, gear guides, Learning Studio recaps, and event coverage.
Manage the YouTube channel:
titles, descriptions, thumbnails, tags, and publishing cadence in alignment with SEO and content strategy direction. Coordinate with vendor representatives and in-store experts for collaboration content about products; manage the logistics of shoots, including scheduling, equipment, and asset storage. Maintain shared video asset library and ensure consistent file naming, storage, and accessibility for the broader team. Learning Studio Promotion & Execution Support Execute all promotional content for Learning Studio classes and workshops across social, email, and web, in alignment with the Strategist's programming calendar and promotional recommendations. Capture and publish event recap content (photos, video, social posts) following Learning Studio classes and in-store events. Serve as the on-site execution lead for Learning Studio events and in-store marketing activations when the VP and Graphic Designer & Marketing Coordinator are not present. Contribute to event debriefs by providing on-the-ground feedback and engagement insights to the Strategist to inform and improve future Learning Studio events. Cross-Departmental & Vendor Coordination Work closely with Sales, Rentals, and Imaging teams to identify and capture timely content opportunities, including new product arrivals, promotions, in-store events, and staff expertise. Act as the day-to-day execution contact for vendor co-branded content, UGC campaigns, and product launch promotional support, in coordination with the Strategist for direction. Support multi-brand in-store events and curated experiences: pre-event promotion, day-of content capture, post-event recap publishing, and attendance reporting. Represent the marketing team in internal department meetings and relay relevant information to the broader marketing team in a timely manner. Systems & Tools Metricool for social media scheduling, publishing, and analytics monitoring. Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads for paid digital campaign management. Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom) or equivalent for video production. Notion for content calendar management, project documentation, and team coordination. Key Performance Indicators Consistent on-schedule social media publishing across all platforms, with content quality aligned to brand voice guidelines. Video content published to YouTube and short-form channels on a defined cadence; view and engagement trends moving positively over time. Paid campaign performance (Meta Ads) meeting or improving established benchmarks. Content calendar maintained in Notion and accessible to the team; asset library organized and up to date. Qualifications Required Experience in content creation, digital marketing, social media management, or a related role. Demonstrated ability to create and publish content independently across multiple social platforms. Experience with Meta Ads Manager or a similar ad manager platform Proficiency in video editing. Strong written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write on-brand copy across formats. Comfortable working in-store and on-camera; able to independently plan and execute content shoots. Preferred Experience in video production and editing (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or equivalent); YouTube channel management a plus. Knowledge of or genuine interest in photography, cameras, and the photography equipment industry. Degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field. Physical and Work Conditions Primarily in-store and on-site; this role requires regular physical presence for content capture, events, and cross-departmental coordination. Frequent interaction with internal teams, vendors, instructors, and customers. Occasional weekend availability required for Learning Studio events, in-store promotions, and content capture opportunities. Ability to carry camera equipment and event materials; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
