The Lackawanna County Visitors Bureau is seeking a Website Content Specialist to help bring the region's attractions, events, and experiences to life on VisitNEPA.org. As part of the marketing team and reporting to the Digital Marketing Director, this person manages day-to-day website updates and keeps content accurate, engaging, and up to date. The ideal candidate enjoys both the detail of website maintenance and the creative work of presenting a destination to visitors. They can manage projects independently and turn information from local partners into clear, engaging web content.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, edit, and maintain content on VisitNEPA.org, including destination pages, blogs, itineraries, event listings, business listings, and seasonal campaigns. Build and update pages with copy, photography, video, maps, and other digital assets. Help improve website navigation and the visitor experience. Regularly check website content for accuracy, accessibility, brand consistency, broken links, formatting issues, and outdated information. Work with the Digital Marketing Director and external SEO specialists to implement SEO recommendations and improve website content and performance. Use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to track website visits, popular pages, and other key metrics, and share monthly highlights with the Executive Director and Digital Marketing Director. Research local events, create and publish event listings, and review submissions to keep the online events calendar current. Maintain tourism partner information in our customer relationship management (CRM) system and work with local businesses to keep their website listings accurate. Create and maintain interactive maps and online forms for the website, and generate QR codes for marketing campaigns. Organize and prepare images, videos, and other website assets using the CMS media library and digital asset management system. Assist with website enhancements, new features, redesigns, and testing in collaboration with staff, developers, and vendors. Help review content for the annual Visitors Guide. Support the Welcome Center by assisting visitors, answering tourism questions, and preparing or distributing visitor materials as needed. Occasionally assist with content production, social media, local events, and other projects that support the Visitors Bureau's mission.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree 2-4 years of professional experience updating and managing website content. Experience creating and publishing content in a content management system (CMS). Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills. Working knowledge of on-page SEO, website accessibility, and Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Ability to use website performance data to identify and recommend improvements. Experience maintaining information in a CRM or similar database. Experience preparing images and other digital assets for web use. Ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, adapt to changing needs, and work both independently and with a team. Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, vendors, and local tourism partners. Willingness to travel occasionally for work-related activities.
