OPTC represents the municipalities across the Olympic Peninsula, including four counties and four towns. Together, these organizations are leaders in providing tourism support, resources, and marketing to attract tourists to the Olympic Peninsula. The Content Development Manager will lead writing, editing, publishing of content on the OPVB website (OlympicPeninsula.org) and all materials that support this effort. This includes consumer facing, industry websites, social media and campaigns associated with social media, established travel planner and email newsletters and advertising. It also includes the development of podcasts and storytelling to support the year-round visitor economy. Deep knowledge of the region's assets, visitor experiences and connection to the supporting organizations are critical. Strong writing and editing skills, as well as good visual acumen are required.

Hybrid - on location in Port Angeles or other options on Olympic Peninsula, in person as needed Position Expectations Leads editorial content (current and new) on www.

OlympicPeninsula.org Writes new content for website Maintains website with current and evolving content Maintains events calendar content for the website Interfaces with website contractor regularly for all updates, maintenance, monthly analytics, etc. Uses SEO best practices Works with outside photographers to acquire new photo and video assets as needed, including negotiating usage rights. Maintains organization's photo and video assets, including on-line photo library Manages contract writers with schedules and meaningful content Edits monthly consumer newsletter, assists with photo selections, and works with Constant Contact to prepare and distribute monthly newsletters. Creates a consistent voice for the organization Guides and manages organization's organic social media Creates new content development including strategies outlined in Tourism Master Plan Creates/maintains content calendar Manages updates in Travel Planner Writes/edits industry facing content including presentations, strategic plan support and other needs as they occur Requirements/Qualifications Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on writing OR equivalent work experience 5 years of experience in content development, public relations, communications or marketing Excellent communication skills, both written and visual Strong grasp of AP style and writing / editing conventions Expertise in digital marketing, social media engagement, website management and other media communication tools Creative approach Problem solving skills Strong organizational skills including meeting deadlines Proven track record of project management Mastered computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Travel/destination/hospitality writing experience Knowledge of destination marketing or experience in the tourism/hospitality industry Experience managing photo/video assets Social media expertise Graphic design/layout/visual eye Knowledge of SEO and how to increase/manage/report Knowledge of Google Analytics Experience optimizing content for web and search engines CMS experience
