Love working hard with the knowledge that you are saving lives in a fast-paced environment? Have the ability to work weekends? Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is the place for you. Lucky Dog Animal Rescue (LDAR) seeks a Social Media & Content Manager to work side by side with our Marketing and Communications Team in supporting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue's Communications initiatives. Founded in 2009, LDAR is a volunteer-powered, foster based 501(c)(3) that has saved more than 35,000 homeless and abandoned animals since its founding. The Social Media & Content Manager is a critical part of Lucky Dog's team, furthering our mission and saving even more animals by sharing our story with existing audiences and building new audiences. Position Overview The Social Media & Content Manager will lead the development and execution of Lucky Dog's social media strategy, creating compelling content that builds brand awareness, strengthens community engagement, and grows our audience across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role requiring someone who can identify emerging social media trends, rapidly create and publish engaging content, and respond to opportunities in real time while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and grammatical accuracy. This individual will identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with influencers to expand Lucky Dog's reach and support fundraising efforts, adoption initiatives, and other organizational priorities. They will also partner with Lucky Dog's web consultants to create and update website content, ensuring information is accurate, engaging, and aligned with the brand. In addition to managing social media for Lucky Dog's national channels, this individual will collaborate closely with the team at our South Carolina Rescue Campus to create content and manage social media for the Rescue Campus and, as needed, our South Carolina-based thrift store. Occasional travel to South Carolina is required. This is a hybrid position based in Arlington, Virginia, with a non-traditional schedule. Because many of our adoptions, transports, fundraising events, and volunteer activities take place on evenings and weekends, this role requires regular weekend work and attendance at transports, adoption events, and other organizational activities to capture content and engage in real time. The standard days off are Wednesday and Thursday; however, occasional social media monitoring and time-sensitive responses may still be required on those days. Reporting to the CEO, the ideal candidate for this job is detail oriented, quick, creative, organized and has a passion for animal rescue. Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is powered by volunteers, requiring high levels of communication and responsiveness to volunteers as well as fosters, adopters, and donors.
