This is a hands-on role focused primarily on eCommerce execution, digital merchandising, product content, and search optimization. This person will own much of the day-to-day work required to launch, maintain, merchandise, and optimize products across our website while helping ensure Good Start Packaging and its products are discoverable through traditional search engines, AI-powered search and answer platforms, and emerging digital discovery channels. The ideal candidate enjoys working at the intersection of products, technology, content, data, and customer experience. They should be comfortable managing a large product catalog, have exceptional attention to detail, and be curious about how customers search for, evaluate, and discover products online. This person will also help build Good Start Packaging's affiliate and influencer programs while providing occasional support for broader marketing initiatives. This position reports to the Senior eCommerce & Merchandising Manager. Responsibilities eCommerce & Product Content
  • Own creation and optimization of product and category pages across the Good Start Packaging website.
  • Create and optimize product titles, descriptions, features and benefits, FAQs, technical information, sustainability attributes, metadata, and other product content.
  • Gather product information and assets from manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure products are complete and launch-ready.
  • Conduct regular site audits to identify outdated or incomplete content, broken links, and other opportunities to improve the customer experience. Digital Merchandising
  • Execute merchandising strategies for new products, best sellers, featured products, promotions, sales, and clearance items.
  • Maintain and optimize cross-sells, related products, and other product recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product discovery, navigation, conversion, and average order value. Product Images & Digital Assets
  • Manage and organize product images and related digital assets.
  • Coordinate asset needs with manufacturers, suppliers, internal teams, photographers, and designers.
  • Prepare, organize, and upload product imagery according to established website, accessibility, and search optimization standards. Search Optimization & Product Discoverability
  • Apply SEO, GEO/AEO, and evolving AI search best practices across product, category, landing, and informational content.
  • Conduct keyword, customer-intent, competitor, and search research to identify content and product discovery opportunities.
  • Identify content gaps that may limit visibility across traditional and AI-powered search.
  • Monitor organic search performance and evolving search behavior, recommending and implementing optimization opportunities. Affiliate & Influencer Marketing
  • Support growth of the affiliate and influencer program by identifying, recruiting, and onboarding relevant partners.
  • Coordinate samples, tracking links, promotional codes, creative assets, and other partnership needs.
  • Maintain partner relationships and identify opportunities to expand successful partnerships. Marketing Support
  • Support the annual catalog process by maintaining accurate product information, imagery, and assets.
  • Provide light support for social media, content, reporting, and other eCommerce and marketing initiatives as priorities evolve. Experience & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in eCommerce, SEO, digital merchandising, or digital marketing, with hands-on experience optimizing website content and product discoverability.
  • Experience working within eCommerce and CMS platforms; experience with a distributor, retailer, marketplace, or other product-heavy eCommerce business is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and project management skills.
  • Strong digital copywriting skills with working knowledge of SEO and on-page optimization.
  • Comfortable managing large volumes of product data, content, and digital assets using spreadsheets and eCommerce platforms.
  • Analytical, resourceful, and self-directed, with the ability to use performance insights to identify opportunities and drive projects to completion.
  • Comfortable learning and applying emerging AI search, product discovery, and content optimization practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, AI-assisted tools, and basic image editing preferred.
  • BigCommerce experience strongly preferred but not required.
  • Strong integrity, good judgment, and listening skills.
