Job Description
We are working with an established garment manufacturing business who are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to drive growth across the UK and European fashion markets, offering a competitive salary and generous commission structure. This is a remote and field-based role, ideal for a commercially driven sales professional with strong industry connections across apparel brands, retailers, wholesalers and importers. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building long-term customer relationships and promoting the company's manufacturing capabilities to key fashion businesses. You will act as the main point of contact for UK and European customers, working closely with internal merchandising, sampling, production and quality teams to ensure customer orders are delivered smoothly, on time and to a high standard.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and securing new customers across the UK and European fashion and apparel markets
- Building and maintaining relationships with fashion brands, retailers, buying houses, wholesalers and importers
- Presenting the company's manufacturing capabilities, product portfolio and overall value proposition
- Generating enquiries, negotiating pricing and closing sales contracts
- Working closely with merchandising, sampling, production and quality teams to ensure orders are delivered successfully
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements to identify new business opportunities
- Attending trade fairs, exhibitions and networking events to promote the business
- Providing regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates and market intelligence Person specification:
- Previous experience in sales, business development or sourcing within the garment, textile or fashion industry
- Established network across apparel brands, retailers or fashion businesses
- Strong understanding of garment manufacturing, fabrics, sourcing, pricing and production timelines
- Confident negotiator with excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
- Highly self-motivated, organised and comfortable working independently, with flexibility to travel across the UK and Europe as required
