Job Description
We are looking for a Personalization Specialist to support our Digital Marketing and Personalization team identifying, developing, and optimizing personalization opportunities across the e-commerce customer journey to drive key business and customer experience outcomes. This role will use customer insights, behavioral data, digital performance, and business priorities to identify opportunities where more relevant and personalized experiences can improve e-commerce performance. The Specialist will translate these insights into actionable personalization strategies, test hypotheses, and measure results to continuously optimize the customer experience. The role will work closely with Product Managers, Data Analysts, and Marketing partners to understand customer behavior, identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and develop data-informed personalization strategies aligned to the e-commerce team's key performance goals. Key Responsibilities
- Identify personalization opportunities across the e-commerce customer journey by analyzing customer behavior, digital performance, business objectives, journey friction points, and existing customer experiences.
- Connect personalization to business outcomes by identifying opportunities that can positively impact key e-commerce KPIs, including acquisition, engagement, conversion, etc.
- Partner with Data Analysts and Journey Leads to analyze customer behavior, audience characteristics, performance trends, and other relevant data to uncover actionable personalization opportunities.
- Partner with Product Managers and Marketing teams to understand business priorities, campaign objectives, customer needs, translate them into relevant personalization strategies.
- Develop and prioritize a roadmap, evaluating opportunities based on potential business impact, customer value, data availability, feasibility, and strategic priorities.
- Translate insights into personalization strategies, defining the appropriate audience, experience, content, message, offer, or digital treatment for each opportunity.
- Develop personalization hypotheses and test strategies, establishing clear objectives, target audiences, success metrics, and measurement approaches.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to bring personalized experiences to life across relevant e-commerce touchpoints.
- Monitor and analyze personalization performance, using test results and performance data to determine what is working, identify optimization opportunities, and make recommendations for future experiences.
- Build a test-and-learn approach to personalization, continuously developing new hypotheses, learning from results, and applying those learnings to future personalization opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to scale successful personalization experiences, using performance insights to recommend where winning strategies can be expanded to additional audiences, journeys, or customer touchpoints.
- Communicate recommendations and results to marketing and business stakeholders, clearly articulating the customer opportunity, business rationale, expected impact, performance, and recommended next steps. What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in personalization, audience segmentation, or experimentation strategy, ideally within a CMS-driven, high-traffic digital environment
- Proven experience with a major personalization or testing platform, such as Adobe Target, Optimizely.
- Strong understanding of digital customer journeys and e-commerce performance drivers.
- Demonstrated ability to use data, analytics, and customer insights to identify opportunities and make actionable recommendations.
- Experience with personalization, audience segmentation, A/B testing, experimentation, or targeted digital experiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
- Ability to connect customer needs and behaviors to measurable business outcomes.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working closely with Data Analytics and Marketing teams.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly articulate insights, recommendations, and business impact.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and prioritize work based on business value and customer impact.
- Comfortable working in a data-driven, test-and-learn environment with a strong focus on measurable outcomes.
- Driving measurable improvements in engagement, conversion and other key e-commerce KPIs through personalization, testing and continues optimization.
