Job Overview:
The main role of a Communications & Marketing Assistant involves a wide variety of tasks and working alongside the Executive Director to grow the organization and further our mission of serving children, youth, and families experiencing foster care.
A qualified candidate will be:
A highly skilled communicator with strong interpersonal skills as well as professional written communication skills A self-starter who can work independently and exercise sound judgment Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously A team-player who contributes to the success and culture of a small nonprofit team Passionate about the work and mission of Tuscaloosa Angels to support the foster care community
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with Canva and social media platforms, including Instagram Reels Strong written communication and writing skills Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma required
Major Job Duties:
Marketing & Communications Create brand-consistent marketing content for flyers, signs, website, events, etc. Manage & schedule content for Angels social media accounts Send monthly newsletters to donors and followers Maintain email lists in Neon One CRM Create and schedule regular emails to followers for updates, campaigns, & events Work with Case Management team to develop content and emails surrounding storytelling, impact stories, and needs for volunteers Fundraising & Development Work with ED to create donor touchpoints for donor base Work with ED to find and submit grant opportunities Maintain data and reports for grant submissions Create stewardship plan for monthly donor community Assist with fundraising events Create social media messaging to garner financial support and advertise fundraising opportunities (events, campaigns, etc.) Assist with securing sponsorships for events by sending emails and contacting potential partners Work as directed to support the mission and values of
