REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE ENGLISH + SPANISH BILINGUAL REQUIRED

Sunday-Friday | Flexible 2-5 Hour Schedule Our intern schedule is: 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM 1-hour break 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM We are open to one intern covering the full schedule , with a 1 hour break in between or two interns splitting the schedule —one covering the earlier 2 hour shift and the other covering the later 2 hour shift. Scheduling will be based on the intern's availability and the needs of the store. At Forever Young Health Foods, being able to communicate comfortably in both English and Spanish is essential . We serve a diverse community, including a large Spanish speaking customer base, and our interns need to be able to communicate, learn, and work confidently in both languages. Are you studying health, nutrition, biology, pre-med, naturopathic medicine, pharmacy, business, marketing, communications , or another related field and looking for an experience that goes far beyond a typical internship? This internship isn't limited to health education. You will have opportunities to learn the business side of operating a specialized health store , including: Store operations Customer service Inventory and product organization Retail systems Daily store management Merchandising and presentation Professional sales and education Communication with customers Learning how a small business operates day to day

MARKETING, MEDIA & COMMUNICATION EXPERIENCE

If you have an interest in marketing, communications, media, or content creation , there are additional opportunities to develop those skills. Depending on your abilities and comfort level, you may have the opportunity to: Participate in our radio program Develop confidence speaking to an audience Help create educational content Participate in social media Learn how a local business uses social media to educate its community Assist with marketing and content ideas Learn how promotions and campaigns are developed Develop professional communication and marketing skills Not every intern will do every activity. Opportunities will depend on experience, ability and performance. One of the most valuable parts of this experience is exposure to real world cases.

You will learn to ask:

What is happening? What information are we missing? What systems could be connected? What should we research? What needs attention first? How do we build a logical health plan? The goal is to teach you how to think through a case and use resources intelligently , rather than simply hand someone a product.

A HIGHLY SPECIALIZED FIELD

Natural clinical nutrition and advanced nutritional supplementation are highly specialized areas. Our goal is to expose interns to knowledge, resources and practical experience that can be difficult to obtain in a traditional classroom or conventional retail internship. You will learn from an established health business with decades of experience working directly with the community and developing individualized health plans.

PAID INTERNSHIP + TRAINING

This is a paid internship . There is an initial training period that is unpaid , during which interns will learn our systems, resources, products, procedures and approach before beginning paid internship work. Once training is successfully completed, the internship becomes paid. Exceptional interns may also have the opportunity to transition into a permanent paid position with Forever Young Health Foods. We are looking for people who want to learn and grow with us , not simply complete a required internship.

If you're looking for a conventional retail internship, this probably isn't it. If you want to spend your holiday season learning about natural health, real world cases, individualized health planning, business operations, customer communication, marketing, radio, social media and professional development , this is an opportunity to gain experience across multiple areas at once. And if you excel, this internship could be the beginning of a permanent position with our team.
