Job Description
Join Our Team We are seeking an experienced and creative Marketing Director to lead the marketing strategy for a growing, member-focused credit union. This role is responsible for strengthening brand awareness, deepening member engagement, supporting organizational growth, and ensuring marketing efforts reflect the credit union philosophy of people helping people. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who understands financial services, community engagement, digital marketing, and the importance of building trust with members. This position works closely with executive leadership, lending, operations, branch teams, and community partners to develop campaigns that support business objectives while delivering a consistent and meaningful member experience. What You'll Do Develop, implement, and manage the credit union's annual marketing plan, budget, campaigns, and brand strategy. Lead marketing efforts that promote deposit, lending, digital banking, and member service initiatives. Oversee advertising, public relations, website content, social media, email marketing, events, sponsorships, and community outreach. Use data, market research, member insights, and campaign performance metrics to guide marketing decisions and measure results. Partner with internal departments to ensure marketing initiatives support strategic goals and provide clear, consistent messaging. Manage vendor, media, agency, and community partner relationships to deliver high-quality campaigns and brand materials. Ensure marketing materials comply with applicable financial industry regulations, disclosure requirements, and credit union policies. Represent the credit union in the community and help strengthen relationships with members, businesses, schools, nonprofits, and local organizations. Lead, coach, and develop marketing staff while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and service-focused culture. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, public relations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Five or more years of progressive marketing experience, preferably in a credit union, bank, or financial services environment. Demonstrated experience developing marketing strategy, managing budgets, leading campaigns, and measuring performance. Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media, website content, email marketing, SEO, analytics, and traditional advertising channels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial topics into clear member-focused messaging. Experience supervising employees, managing projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of brand management, community relations, member experience, and regulatory compliance in marketing communications. Ability to balance creativity with analytics, strategic thinking with execution, and business goals with member needs.
