We are looking for a highly motivated and committed marketing professional to join our Marketing team. The Marketing Manager is responsible for day-to-day execution of Mainly Mozart's marketing, communications, and design activities to engage and grow audiences and donors, while driving the organization's brand visibility. This mid-level role reports to the Director of Marketing and collaborates closely with development, program, and administration staff. Who We Are Since 1988, using the genius of Mozart as inspiration, Mainly Mozart has been bringing together world-class musicians from across North America for both classical and innovative musical programs. Through our 350-student youth orchestra, we are ensuring the preservation and appreciation of classical music by giving young musicians the opportunity to learn and perform together.
Major Responsibilities Include:
Develop and implement marketing campaigns for Mainly Mozart concerts, festivals, and special initiatives, from planning through post-campaign reporting. Coordinate promotion calendars, ensuring all campaigns launch on time and align with institutional branding and messaging. Take lead responsibility for visual design of marketing collateral (digital and print) including social media graphics, email communications, web content, posters, flyers, programs, invitations, and basic merchandise artwork, ensuring materials are on-brand and audience-focused. Design, write, and schedule content for social media platforms, email newsletters, and website updates, optimizing donor engagement and ticket sales. Manage day-to-day updates to the Mainly Mozart website, including event pages, images, copy, and calls to action, in coordination with the Director of Marketing and web vendors as needed. Produce and traffic marketing assets to external partners (venues, media outlets, community partners), ensuring they have timely, accurate materials to promote Mainly Mozart events. Support the Director of Marketing in developing campaign creative briefs, selecting and coordinating with external designers or agencies when specialized creative is required. Monitor performance of campaigns and digital channels using analytics tools; compile reports on key metrics and make recommendations for adjustments. Contribute to audience development and community outreach strategies, including promotion of education programs, community concerts, and donor engagement events. Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints, maintaining and evolving Mainly Mozart's visual identity in line with its artistic mission and strategic plan.
Design-specific responsibilities:
Serve as in-house designer for routine marketing and institutional needs, creating templates and layouts in Adobe Creative Suite or comparable tools. Provide art direction and graphic concepts for campaigns, working with the Director of Marketing to translate programming and fundraising goals into compelling visual narratives. Maintain organized design files, image libraries, and brand assets (logos, typography, color palettes), and ensure correct usage internally and with partners. Collaborate with photographers and videographers to secure, select, and format imagery and video clips for use across digital and print channels.
Reporting relationships:
Reports directly to the Director of Marketing, who sets overall strategy, goals, and budgets. Collaborates with development staff on donor communications, impact reports, event promotion, and branded materials for sponsorship and fundraising campaigns. Collaborates with programming staff on positioning and messaging for concerts, artistic initiatives, and educational programs.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
3+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or design, preferably in performing arts, festivals, or nonprofit cultural organizations. Demonstrated proficiency with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent) and basic video/asset editing. Strong writing and editing skills for marketing copy, with experience creating integrated campaigns across email, web, and social media. Familiarity with analytics tools and basic reporting on digital performance metrics. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
